Sponge cloth for udder hygiene

The be-all and end-all of impeccable milk quality is healthy livestock and professional hygienic measures. Lowest germ counts, highest raw milk quality and thus ultimately a full milk price require reliable means to improve milk and thus udder hygiene.

The Kalle sponge cloth has been further developed specifically for this application and has been tested for practical suitability by the Hofgut Neumühle training and experimental institute for livestock farming in Münchweiler an der Alsenz since 2006 in a practical long-term trial in the dairy industry on around 70 dairy cows.

The results can be seen or “read”:
After more than 250 machine washes at 60°C, there is almost no wear and tear, the color fastness is good, the feel for the user and the udder stimulation is classified as pleasant and very good. In a direct comparison to competitor products, the dirt absorption and cleaning ability was classified as better; As an important and significant contribution to environmental protection, the decomposability of the used Kalle udder cloth (disposal in the manure/slurry) was emphasized compared to the other products.

In the case of udder cleaning, we recommend washing the sponge cloths in the washing machine at at least 60°C with a commercial heavy-duty detergent before each use and using the cloths when they are damp.
